The compact Eco+Energy ORC modules from Dürr Cyplan recycle waste heat at temperatures of between 90°C and 500°C from different sources, such as, steam, hot water, thermal oils and hot gas by converting the thermal energy they contain into electricity. This increases the energy efficiency of a decentralized energy supply plant and saves costs in the long term since less primary energy is required. Plant operators can benefit from supplementary revenues with the electrical energy additionally obtained. The equipment can also be used to meet requirements regarding high efficiency and heat usage in various applications and regulations. Thanks to its cogeneration capability, the Dürr Cyplan ORC technology achieves overall process efficiency of more than 95 percent at high temperature applications above 300°C. With this technology, water with a temperature of up to 90°C can be provided as a heating medium in addition to the electrical energy.
Dürr Cyplan will be presenting an extended portfolio for the area of direct evaporation technology for flue gases and hot air at the trade fair in Cologne: the 50, 70 and 120 kWel module sizes used successfully for many years will be joined by two new, standardized power classes with 250 kWel and 350 kWel. Compared with other systems available on the market, these variants offer much lower installation costs, minimal transmission losses and the highest efficiency in their respective class. The new module sizes have been developed to equip engine based applications from 500 kWel right up to 4,000 kWel with a solution for producing power from the engine exhaust.
Over the past five years, Dürr Cyplan has successfully planned, connected and commissioned Eco+Energy ORC plants for different waste heat sources in the biogas, natural gas, biomass, geothermal and solar sectors as well as in industries in different countries around the world. Dürr Cyplan can be found at booth N29 in hall 7 at Power-Gen Europe.
