Your Tasks:
- This position is responsible for design/definition of the product. This role works closely with the Application Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Design on requirements, as well as Procurement and Manufacturing on design for execution. The Project Engineer is responsible to execute the Design Control processes for their product lines of focus, utilizing the appropriate tools and consulting with the Process Engineer if necessary. The Project Engineer is responsible for the technical execution of a project at the receipt of customer order.
- Utilizing appropriate tools, the Project Engineer will perform the sizing and application functions and support the creation of customer drawings (e.g. general arrangements, loading diagrams)
- The Project Engineer works directly with the Project Manger on the project details. The Project Engineer will define the mechanical design of the product / system providing concept models / mark-ups to the Design team and collaborate with the Electrical Engineer to realize a finished product.
- The Project Engineer also supports the Project Manager in defining long lead-time materials to place them on order to realize project schedules.
- Responsible for design review of critical assemblies.
- Engages with Process Engineering when detailed analysis is required.
- Coordinates with the Mechanical Design Manager on required design resources and supports the assigned Designer on project specific questions.
- Develops engineering specifications required to ensure product meets the design intent as well as conforms to the customer specifications.
- Works closely with Manufacturing during production to ensure product meets both customer and internal design requirements.
- Support Procurement by providing a clear scope definition to vendors and supports any technical clarification required.
- Responsible for executing Order Changes (OCR) to ensure the bill of material and drawings reflect the as-build product at time of shipment.
- Travel to the project site for any technical validation as required on a project-by-project basis.
Your Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 2-5 years' experience in the application, function, design, and testing of industrial products
- Good understanding and knowledge of detailed Engineering concepts.
- Experience using Finite Element Analysis in completing structural designs.
- Strong background in heat transfer and fluid dynamics preferred.
- Experience in performing or reviewing Computation Fluid Dynamic (CFD) models preferred.
