To stand on the podium as a Formula 1 driver at the end of the season, you not only need a good race car but also a skilled driver with the know-how on how to handle it. At Dürr, we ensure not only that our machines and systems are of the highest quality, but also that the people who operate them are thoroughly trained. Our training programs are offered at centers around the world, including locations in China, India, and Korea. These courses are tailored to the specific needs of local customers, with the goal of improving equipment performance and enhancing the quality of the end product. Here, our colleagues share insights into their daily training routines.
Liu Chen, Team Leader Customer Training Dürr China, on the training center in Shanghai, China:
“In 2023, we organized around 400 training sessions for almost 4700 participants. The focus was on technological change. We want to be able to respond quickly to market shifts, which is why we are continuously working to develop and improve our training programs.
Well-trained instructors are the key to successful training. Dürr's training team undergoes regular professional development, engages in mutual learning and experience sharing, and conducts customer satisfaction surveys.”
Prakash Ganapathi, Deputy Manager Marketing Dürr India, about the training center in Chennai, India:
“Our training philosophy is: You'll know it's working when you see the results.
We offer training for our first- and second-generation mechanical robots in Chennai. This includes how to operate the robots and an introduction to the electrical engineering details of our models.
In the future, we will also offer a third-generation robot. Our customers can immediately apply their newly acquired skills using these devices to apply in real-world scenarios.”
Gyoungseok Lee, Software Engineer Application Technology Dürr Korea, on the training center in Ulsan, Korea:
“We offer two types of courses: In our basic course, we show customers how to install our robots and how to replace individual parts of the robots, such as mechanical components or paint applicators.
We also offer seminars on specific problems and topics, allowing our customers to come to us with a wide range of questions. These sessions take more time, but enables us to address their needs in greater detail.
In each of our courses, we provide participants with learning materials, such as case studies and FAQs, along with specialized tools and training robots.”
