Participants at the Dürr China Open House learned about Dürr’s latest developments in painting technology for nonautomotive industries and explored outstanding advancements in gluing technology. These innovations contribute to increased efficiency, optimized product quality, and support sustainable development goals.
Flexible automated painting
In addition to the automotive industry, Dürr offers both manual and fully automatic painting solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into various other industries. The ready2integrate concept aligns individual products, creating a high-quality solution that includes a controller, dosing technology, and applicator. The ready2integrate solution combines these components to improve ramp-up time, lower project risks, and ease integration. An integrator installs the selected products at the customer's site, resulting in systems tailored to each customer’s individual painting process.
Precise dosing: Solutions for 2K paint application
Dürr’s EcoDose 2K and 3K units are electronic dosing systems suitable for both high- and low-pressure applications in manual and automated painting processes. With quick color changes and convenient flushing functions, the system maximizes resource use and enhances application efficiency. Its precise fluid measurement technology ensures consistency and accuracy, even when handling media of varying viscosities. EcoDose 2K Easy supports 1K, 2K or 3K materials, as well as water and solvent based paints, clear coats, top coats, and monolayer paints.
Colorful efficiency: Special paint supply systems
The new EcoSupply P Core is a modular paint supply system based on pigging technology, designed for industries using small amounts of various paint colors, like construction, woodworking, and automotive suppliers. The system not only effectively recovers unused paint and reduces the use of cleaning solvents but also accelerates the color change process, thereby improving work efficiency. Fully assembled at the factory, the EcoSupply P Core system only requires simple commissioning, providing an efficient, environmentally friendly, and user-friendly solution.
EcoPump VP for medium and high pressure applications
EcoPump VP, a pneumatically driven vertical piston pump, is designed for medium and high-pressure applications. Its proven design and long-term durability make these pumps ideal for small to mid-sized applications, from painting and applying mastics and adhesives, to furniture, steel structures or walls, car bodies and other objects. The EcoPump VP is suitable for airless or air-assisted application and is available in numerous configurations with various air inlet modules, pressure relief valves, trolleys and adjacent devices.
No masking: Overspray-free paint application
EcoPaintJet technology enables fully automatic, two–color car painting without overspray — a first in the industry. This product combines Dürr's expertise in paint application, robotics, and software with applications extending beyond automotive to industries like furniture, two-wheelers, cardboard packaging, garage doors, aircraft, and railway carriage decorations.
Uniqueness in battery gluing
Dürr offers high-quality dispensing products and provides extensive process expertise. Dürr’s piston shot meters, combined with the company’s high-precision dosing controls system, ensure high quality and continuous monitoring. This represents the most accurate dosing principle for reproducible processes and consistent seam quality. Furthermore, Dürr supports customers throughout the production lifecycle — from selecting the right components to process development, on-site support, and service — making Dürr a reliable partner in gluing. Key application areas include battery gluing, body-in-with bonding, and skyroof gluing.
Long lifetime: Higher production quality for batteries
Dürr's dosing technology is essential to producing high-quality batteries. This modular system adapts to various adhesive material viscosities and mix ratios, ensuring precise and uniform material application. From sealing and structural bonding to thermal interfact material TIM (Gapfiller), Dürr's battery dispensing application technology covers every step of the assembly — from individual cells to modules and battery packs. Dürr masters all gluing and sealing processes, prioritizing safety and quality throughout production to enhance battery system stability and longevity.
Gluing Solutions in Body Shop
The gluing process is a crucial part of automotive body-in-white manufacturing, as it enhances body rigidity and stability while directly impacting overall vehicle performance and appearance quality. In the Body Shop, Dürr's gluing application system includes modules such as the EcoRAM, which supplies viscous glues; the EcoHVMP control system of pumps and applicators; the EcoShot Meter, an electric piston dosing unit, accurately doses highviscosity materials regardless of material supply variations; and the EcoGun applicators for various gluing tasks Together, these systems ensure that the body-in-white adhesive applications meet the high standards required for vehicle quality and performance.
Gluing Skyroof: modular systems - customized solutions
This solution addresses customers' specific needs for production efficiency, equipment cost, and product quality, providing turn-key gluing cells, gluing products, dual robotic gluing cells with high-precision glue pattern detection and semi-automatic loading via manipulators. Dürr also offers virtual commissioning services, allowing verification of equipment processes and programming within the software to ensure smooth, efficient production. Furthermore, Dürr introduces a range of highly automated, innovative technologies, such as automatic windshield bonding and assembly line tracking for side window bonding and insertion, significantly enhancing production efficiency.
